John Lithgow talks “Stories by Heart” on Broadway, “The Crown”

John Lithgow’s storied career includes two Oscar-nominated performances and three Emmys for hit TV comedy, “3rd Rock from the Sun.” But the actor first made a name for himself in theater. Now, he’s returning to the stage in his latest, one-man Broadway show, “Stories by Heart.” Lithgow shares deeply personal moments and tales from the same book his stage producer father read to him while growing up. Lithgow joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss conversing with the audience in the Broadway show and his role in the Netflix series, “The Crown.” Source

Inside Florida’s solar-powered Babcock Ranch

Families are starting to move into what is being called America’s first solar-powered town. Babcock Ranch, about half an hour northeast of Fort Myers, Florida, is supposed to produce more energy than it consumes once it’s finished. DHS chief Kirstjen Nielsen on Trump’s reported vulgar comments, DACA

Kirstjen Nielsen, President Trump’s Homeland Security secretary, tells CBS News immigrants in the DACA program need to follow the law. She was in the Oval Office during last week’s “impassioned” White House meeting on DACA where Mr. Trump reportedly described African nations with vulgar language. “CBS This Morning” co-host John Dickerson asked Nielsen about the meeting and the president’s views on immigration. California parents accused of holding 13 children captive

A married couple accused of holding their 13 children captive in their California home are facing charges of torture and child endangerment. Police say they were tipped off by a teenage daughter after she escaped from her parents, David and Louise Turpin. David Begnaud reports. Source

CVS exec on beauty ad transparency initiative, opioid crisis

First on “CBS This Morning,” CVS Health is announcing a major change to how you shop for beauty products. The nation’s leading drugstore chain will inform customers if certain advertisements for products were digitally altered.
