Former Kentucky standout moved to Cookeville this spring trying to do something that hasn’t been done here in a long time – a consistent Basketball Winner.

The drug which was more commonly thought of as a late 60s and early 70s mind-altering substance is more often seen today by law enforcement – including right here in the Upper Cumberland. We explore why with Glen Sayes. He is the Upper Cumberland’s Regional Opioid Coordinator with UCHRA.

Estimates are between 2-8% of college students face campus life with ADHD. What are the unique challenges the college aged student must conquer with ADHD? How does a school like Tennessee Tech help students deal with ADHD or ADD? On the Golden Eagles campus, the responsibility falls to the Office of Disability Services.

Avery Trace Middle School’s Jaida Campbell talks supporting children with ADHD.

More than 6 million young people nationwide live with ADHD. More and more we are meeting the challenges of ADHD head on with strong diagnoses, and more and more parents understand that a prescription does not have to be the only answer for a diagnosis. Over the last 2 years, parents across out community have come together to help one another be better parents of ADHD children – to vent, to learn, to support one another. The next meeting of the local Parent2Parent Support Group takes place September 30 at Noon at Avery Trace School.
