Governor Bill Lee’s new funding formula for public education faced some of its toughest questions so far this week as the legislature bore down into the details. Overton County teach Jennifer Eislander has spent a lot of time in the last several weeks trying herself to get answers to questions that she and her colleagues have about what the plan will truly mean for schools across the state. In particular, school systems like Overton County.

Tennessee Knoxville’s Kelsey Ellis discusses nighttime tornadoes in Tennessee.

This week marks the anniversary of the tragic tornadoes that killed 19 across the Upper Cumberland. Research is going on at the University of Tennessee to try to understand why Tennessee has more nighttime tornadoes than just about any part of the country. Kelsey Ellis is a Hazard Climatologist, and Assistant Professor of Geography at Tennessee Knoxville.
