In 2007, Anderson Cooper reported on research into brain injury survivors who have been misdiagnosed as “vegetative” and may actually have more awareness than previously thought. Last week, a research study published in the New England Journal of Medicine discovered brain activity patterns similar to healthy individuals in 25% of unresponsive patients tested. Source
