Daniel Radcliffe's solution for becoming a has-been? Get super drunk

By Arienne Thompson

(Dan Steinberg/Invision/AP)

Lots of stars have opened up about drug and alcohol problems recently, and Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe is the latest on the list. In an interview with Sky Arts set to air later this year, he admitted to using alcohol to cope with his fear of becoming a Hollywood has-been and the pressures of worldwide fame at a young age.

“I would have benefited from not drinking as it was not making me as happy as I wanted to. It is not a real pressure, but it is a pressure of living with the thought, ‘Oh, what is all these people are saying I am not going to have a career? What if they are all going to be right and will be laughing and I will be consigned to a bunch of ‘Where are they now?’ lists?’”

He’s been sober for four years now though and that hooey about not having a career? Ha! He’s been a smash on Broadway and has a cute-looking rom-com coming out in August.

See a brand-new clip from the flick, What If, below.

Adventures in Antiquing: How to Make a Short Headboard Look Taller

By H. Camille Smith

If you’ve been following along on my antiquing adventures then you know 2 things about me:
1) That I spend a fair amount of time at estate sales.
2) That I’m all about a serious bargain.

Enter this perfectly distressed, cane-backed French Provincial headboard that I recently found in an Oak Ridge, TN garage for… wait for it… just 10 bucks! I couldn’t believe the estate sellers had priced it SO low — especially considering how hot French antiques are right now. I vaulted over a pile of old lumber, pulled off the price tag and hot-footed it straight to the check-out table to pay before anyone else could lay claim.

Once I placed it in my guest room, I remembered one small detail about older headboards — they’re short. Often much, much shorter than modern headboards. So short, in fact, that the pillows dwarf my new French beauty:French Provincial Headboard Before
The good news is that this is a very easy fix. I could have raised the headboard by placing it on wood blocks but that’s unstable and, with any shifting of the bed, would cause the headboard to bang against the wall, damaging the paint. So, I decided to rely on …read more

Usher Defends Justin Bieber Following Racist Remarks

Justin Bieber’s mentor Usher is siding with the embattled pop star following some videos leaked that show the 20-year-old singer using racial slurs.

RELATED PICS: Star Shots–What’s On Instagram?

On Saturday, the 35-year-old Voice judge posted an old photo of he and Bieber on Instagram, writing: “At my core, I am a person that supports growth and understands without judgement, that growth often comes as a result of pain and continues effort. As I have watched Justin Bieber navigate difficult waters as a young man, I can tell you that he hasn’t always chosen the path of his greatest potential, but he is unequivocally not a racist. What he was 5 years ago was a naive child who did not understand the negative power and degradation that comes from playing with racial slurs. What he is now is a young man faced with an opportunity to become his best self, an example to the millions of kids that follow him to not make the same mistakes.”
