By Christine Gallary

Smoky, spicy canned chipotles in adobo are one of my favorite flavor-boosters. Just a little bit of this wonderfully smoky, spicy stuff adds so much flavor to my cooking, but it also leads to one of the more annoying aspects of opening up a can: dealing with the leftovers.

Elton John's Private Diaries

An authorized movie about Elton John’s life is in the works.  It’s called Rocketman. Filming won’t begin until the end of this year. Screenwriter, Lee Hall, felt honored when Elton unlocked a safe in his home to reveal his private diary while he was in rehab.  Elton left Hall in the room alone to collect data that helped with his screenplay. Hall wants the story to be as true as possible and it will concentrate on the height of Elton’s drug addiction. Lee Hall is an accomplished writer in his own right. He  was nominated for an Oscar for writing the 2000 film Billy Elliot.

You'll Never Guess Who Crashed This Jeep

A 3 year old who was wearing only his diaper, jumped in his Mom’s jeep and  knocked it out of gear. The jeep went rolling through the neighborhood, past an intersection and into a neighbor’s house.  The toddler went back home and watched cartoons like nothing ever happened.  The parents weren’t home at the time and the relative that was suppose to be watching him was asleep. She has been charged with failing to supervise the child.

Lemur Sits On Baby's Head

I was an interactive exhibit at the Kansas Zoo with Lemurs.  Angie Widener took her three daughters – including 9-week-old Finley. Strollers aren’t allowed in the lemur exhibit, so she carried Finley in the stroller’s removable carrier.  She sat the baby down to take pictures. As Angie was snapping photos of her other daughters, she heard someone say, “Ma’am, there’s a lemur on your baby’s head.”  She didn’t worry too much and snapped a picture of her baby and the lemur before picking Finley up.
