Leigh Caldwell is a 4th grade teacher at Northeast Elementary School in Cookeville. She was nominated by Mary Eldridge. Caldwell was nominated because “she is an awesome teacher. My son had her for 3rd grade half of the time and now in 4th grade he is in her homeroom. She is very patient, encouraging, and an all around great teacher. She wants to see her students succeed. She takes time to respond to parents questions and concerns.”

Camille Conner teaches Pre-K at Homestead Elementary in Crossville. She has been there for four years enjoying the little faces she sees each day. Ms. Conner’s mother was also a teacher and that influenced her in choosing her profession.

Lite Rock 95.9 and The Tennessee Credit Union recognized Alli Hyder, a senior at Cumberland County High Schoolin Crossville, as a Dream Big Scholar.
Hyder was named Cumberland County Girls Basketball Freshman of the year. She is also a Girls’ State Nominee. As a dual enrollment student at Roane State Community College, Hyder achieved Dual Student of the month. Hyder was named Student of the class with Honors in Chemistry, AP U.S. History, Dual Statistics and Spanish 2. Hyder maintains a 4.0 GPA, while being the captain of the basketball team. Hyder also came in 23rd of 100+ in a pre-calculus competition.
Hyder is a member of the Cumberland County Girls Basketball Team, Interact Club, FBLA, and Student Council.
Hyder plans to attend Tennessee Tech University and major in Biochemistry, and plans to be in the honors program. After getting a degree in biochemistry, Hyder plans to go to a physical therapy school and get her doctorate in physical therapy.
Alli Hyder will now be eligible to win scholarship money from Lite Rock 95.9 and The Tennessee Credit Union.
Amanda Selby teaches first grand in Sparta at Findley Elementary. The nomination said she helps each child feel comfortable learning. Ms. Selby goes out of her way to help children come out of their shell to reach their full potential.

Max Amoss is the band director at Avery Trace Middle School. He’s love of music made him want to pursue a career in teaching. Mr. Amoss enjoys seeing the student grow from a new beginner to hearing them play an entire song on their instrument. He says it’s very rewarding when a student lets him know something they learned in band has been a positive in their lives.

Jessica Rollins is a fifth grade teacher at Homestead Elementary School of Crossville. Rollins was nominated because she makes learning fun and is a caring teacher. The nomination says that Rollins teaches this student’s favorite subjects: social studies and science.
