Sheila’s Pet Of The Week

Charlie is a beautiful orange tabby. He reminds me of Garfield because he is solid as a rock with chubby cheeks. He loves to cuddle, has one of the most melodic meows and purrs as soon as you pick him up. Adopt this one year old kitty today from the new Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter. Their new location is beside the Hyder Burks Ag Pavilion.

Jimmy Stewart is probably best known for his role in “It’s A Wonderful Life”, but he did another Christmas made for TV movie in 1980. He did this in one take because he was so emotional afterwards. He told them he could do other takes, but this will be the right one. The movie is called Mr. Krueger’s Christmas. #ShareTheLove

The Origin Of Our Beloved Rudolph

Rudolph has been around since 1939. Yes, for 75 years, kids have loved this shiny, red nosed reindeer. The idea was thought up by a copywriter at Montgomery Ward, Robert L. May. He tested the story on his own little girl to make sure the story would appeal to kids. Then, it was added to a booklet to giveaway at their stores at Christmas. Montgomery Ward gave away 2.4 million copies that year! From that, a song and TV special was made along with a lasting memory for children everywhere.

The Log Cabin Cubicle

The sales employees of W Hotel in Minnesota really get in the holiday spirit with a cubicle decorating contest. Angela Westfeild had the help of her hubby turning hers into a wintery log cabin complete with a decorated Christmas tree and snow on the roof. Any co-worker that “visits” her cabin also gets cookies or candy. They used cut carpet tubes for the logs. It took them 18 hours to build.
