This fat little squirrel is brave.  He doesn’t know what a GoPro camera is, but he’s curious enough to steal it and take it up a tree. Have you seen this?  It’s cute.  I guess he didn’t like the paparazzi filming him.

American Idol Contestant From Jamestown, TN

Kory Wheeler, who grew up in Jamestown, worked in Cookeville and then moved to Nashville, was on this season’s American Idol auditions. He received the gold paper that takes him to Hollywood. Root for Kory as he goes to the next round on Feb. 4th. I’ll have him in for another interview on Wednesday, January 28th at 7:20 on Lite Rock 95.9.

Sheila’s Pet Of The Week: Hulk

This kitty was named Hulk, not because he’s angry, but because he is so big.  He’s personality is more like Hulk’s alter ego, Bruce Banner. He is about 2 years old with beautiful markings, a docile personality and sweet purr. Adopt this lap kitty at the new Cookeville/Putnam County Shelter off Gainesboro Grade in Cookeville anytime Monday-Saturday from Noon to 6.

Singer Craig Morgan Slams Seth Rogen

Country singer Craig Morgan, who is from Kingston Springs, TN & a veteran of the United States army, had some strong words for Seth Rogen after he  compared the new movie “American Sniper” to a fake Nazi propaganda film. Morgan wrote on his facebook page, “sick and tired of people like you running your mouth when you have no idea what it takes for this country to maintain our freedom. If you and anyone like you don’t like it, leave.” Seth Rogen is a native of Canada.

Oreo Has A New Cookie

After New Years many of us plan to lose weight and eat healthier. Now Oreo is trying to wreck those plans. Red Velvet Oreos with creme cheese filling will be available starting in February, but only for a limited time.

Hee Haw Star Dies

Don Harron best known for his radio character, Charlie Farquharson, on the TV show Hee Haw, has died.  Harron was on the show for 18 seasons. He was a veteran Broadway performer and even wrote lyrics for several musicals including the popular Anne Of Green Gables. Harron had been suffering from cancer. He died at his home in Toronto, Canada at age 90.

Sheila’s Pet Of The Week

Miss Piggy is a 4 year old Chihuahua. She has already been spayed.  Owner surrendered because her owner had heath problems. She has been in a very loving home and just needs someone to open their hearts to her.  Miss Piggy is sweet, loving and enjoys being in your lap!  Adopt her today at the new Putnam County Animal Shelter, Gainesboro Grade in Cookeville. They are open Noon to 6pm, Monday through Saturday, located next to Hyder-Burks Ag Pavilion.
