Former Tennessee Vol and now the Denver Broncos’ quarterback, Peyton Manning is 39 today.  He won a Super Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts in 2007. His father Archie was a longtime star for the New Orleans Saints and his brother Eli is still quarterback of the New York Giants. Happy Birthday, Petyon!!! You’ll forever be our favorite Volunteer!

What better way to celebrate National Puppy Day than to show you a pic of my girl, Izzy, when she was a pup.  NPD was created to celebrate puppies & encourage adoption. I adopted Izzy from the Cookeville/Putnam County Shelter almost 9 years ago. She was about 8 weeks old when I adopted her. This was her first day home.

Rocket is just under a year old. He loves to play.  He’s a long haired, easy going kind of fellow. You can see him at the new shelter on the Gainesboro Grade in Cookeville, next to Hyder Burks Ag Pavilion.

If you watched the wonder years, you are probably familiar with the lead character, Kevin, wearing a green & white Jets football jacket. Where is it now?  Fred Savage’s real Mom kept the jacket. She donated it to the Smithsonian.

The last Beatle is about to be inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame next month. John, Paul and George are already in and now Ringo Starr will join them and Paul will induct him. The ceremony will be April 18th.

The mystery is solved and hopefully will put an end to many arguments. Someone recently posted the original 1891 patent for Seth Wheeler’s invention – toilet paper. The inventor had the roll going “Over” not under.  I’d have to agree.
