Old Hollywood Beauty Secrets

How did those Hollywood beauties stay so glamorous long before plastic surgery and botox became so popular? Here are some of their secrets:

Sophia Loren would always use splashes of olive oil in her bath

Marilyn told her makeup artist to apply 5 different shades of lipstick & gloss to make her lips appear fuller

Elizabeth Taylor shaved her baby fine facial hair so her skin would glow

Rita Hayworth applied oil to her hair, wrapped it in a towel for 15 minutes and rinsed with lemon juice & hot water

Audrey Hepburn used a pin to separate her lashes so they’d appear longer

Grace Kelly used two cheek colors, Lighter on the bone, Darker on the apples

Sheila’s Pet Of The Week: Emma The Black Lab

Emma is just a little over a year.  Her adoption fee is covered.  She had a rough start.  She was hit by a car and her leg was broken in 3 places.  She’s on the mend now. She may require follow ups to the doctor until she is completely healed. When she has recovered, the vet thinks she will be good as new. Her personality is still very sweet and playful. Adopt Emma today at the Cookeville Shelter next to Hyder Burks Pavilion on Gainesboro Grade. They are open Monday through Saturday, Noon to 6pm.

Sheila Visits The Pre-K Class At Kids Putnam

I was lucky enough to visit Mrs. Cindy Sullivan’s Pre-K class at Kids Putnam yesterday afternoon. Someone reported to me that the kids saw a Leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day.  I went to check it out for myself.  The kids said one of the teachers saw it peaking in her class window. Even though I didn’t get to see the Leprechaun, I enjoyed talking to all of the kids.  We decided that he probably only comes out once a year on March 17th. Maybe he will be back next St. Patrick’s Day to visit the kids.

It’s Elton John’s Birthday!

Reginald Kenneth Dwight is celebrating a birthday today. We know him best as Elton John. He is 68. I’ve seen him in concert twice and it was worth every cent! He’s one of my all time faves.
