Emma is just a little over a year.  Her adoption fee is covered.  She had a rough start.  She was hit by a car and her leg was broken in 3 places.  She’s on the mend now. She may require follow ups to the doctor until she is completely healed. When she has recovered, the vet thinks she will be good as new. Her personality is still very sweet and playful. Adopt Emma today at the Cookeville Shelter next to Hyder Burks Pavilion on Gainesboro Grade. They are open Monday through Saturday, Noon to 6pm.

There will be a new museum honoring the works of the much loved children’s author, Dr. Seuss. The museum will be in his hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts. Fans that walk through will travel to the land of his books with exciting life-sized characters that are 3-D.  It’s expected to open in Mid-2016.

I was lucky enough to visit Mrs. Cindy Sullivan’s Pre-K class at Kids Putnam yesterday afternoon. Someone reported to me that the kids saw a Leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day.  I went to check it out for myself.  The kids said one of the teachers saw it peaking in her class window. Even though I didn’t get to see the Leprechaun, I enjoyed talking to all of the kids.  We decided that he probably only comes out once a year on March 17th. Maybe he will be back next St. Patrick’s Day to visit the kids.

Reginald Kenneth Dwight is celebrating a birthday today. We know him best as Elton John. He is 68. I’ve seen him in concert twice and it was worth every cent! He’s one of my all time faves.

Former Tennessee Vol and now the Denver Broncos’ quarterback, Peyton Manning is 39 today.  He won a Super Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts in 2007. His father Archie was a longtime star for the New Orleans Saints and his brother Eli is still quarterback of the New York Giants. Happy Birthday, Petyon!!! You’ll forever be our favorite Volunteer!

What better way to celebrate National Puppy Day than to show you a pic of my girl, Izzy, when she was a pup.  NPD was created to celebrate puppies & encourage adoption. I adopted Izzy from the Cookeville/Putnam County Shelter almost 9 years ago. She was about 8 weeks old when I adopted her. This was her first day home.
