Burger King Getting Married

The fast-food chain, Burger King, will pick up the tab for the wedding of a man named Burger and a woman named King. Joel Burger and Ashley King have known each other since they were in 5th grade. Their wedding is set for July 17th in Jacksonville, Florida. I bet it will be a whopper of an event. (I couldn’t resist)

Unlike his famous namesake, this Brutus would be loyal to you forever! This friendly Anatolian Shepherd mix is about 3 years old and is 70lbs of sweetness! He loves belly rubs, ear rubs, and treats. He has been with the shelter for a while. We can’t understand why this beautiful boy hasn’t found a home yet. You can adopt him for $110, which includes being fixed and fully vetted with shots before coming home with you.

It’s Child Abuse Prevention Month…Talk, Learn, Share!

All across the nation, a lot of organizations and individuals will be spinning pinwheels in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. The pinwheel is the widely adopted symbol that helps raise awareness about healthy child development. It represents happiness, health and hope. The goal of this month-long awareness (April 1-30) is to stimulate conversation and motivate the public to play a key role in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. The hope is that people will get involved and support the efforts of those working to end child abuse and neglect. Some will also decorate tress with blue ribbons that represent children who have been abused or wear a blue ribbon to show support for the children.

What Music Do Cats Like?

Something most cat lovers probably already realize. Cats are not rockers. A study at the University of Lisbon found that when they were played music from rock groups like AC/DC they showed high levels of stress like fast breathing and dilated pupils. The opposite happened when listening to softer music they completely calmed down. So, when your kitty gets rowdy, play Lite Rock 95,9 for him. It may calm him down.
