Blue Moon Of Tennesse Tonight

You can experience a rare event tonight. It’s not often you see two full moons in ONE month. Although it’s called a blue moon, the color won’t actually be blue. The second full moon in a month is always called a blue moon. Blue Moons only happen about once every two and a half years. The first full moon happened on July 2 of this year.

How To Take A Good Selfie

In this age of social media, we want to take the best pic possible whether its a selfie or a pic of places from our vacations. Here are some tips to help improve your photo skills:

  1.  Keep your phone at arm’s length, but don’t strain.  Obviously you should stretch out your arm far enough to get the phone away from your face, so that it doesn’t distort your features.  But not SO far that you have to strain to hold it while you’re getting the shot.
  1.  Ask someone to help.  We’ve never heard this one before, but it’s okay to ask the OTHER person to help steady the camera.  Like if there are only two or three of you.
  1.  Choose your background wisely.  Don’t pose in front of something like a branch, that’ll look like it’s coming out of your head . . . watch out for photo bombers . . . and in famous settings, move to the side so you get the scenery too.
  1.  Actually look at the camera.  You don’t want a shot of the inside of your nose, or your forehead looking huge.

Sheila Says: Have fun with it. Look at these great pics…………

A Brand New Dr. Seuss Book

A new Dr. Seuss book came out yesterday. It’s believed that the story, “Which Pet should I Get” was written somewhere between 1958 and 1962. Dr. Seuss, aka Theodore Geisel died in 1991 and his widow Audrey found the manuscripts in their home soon afterward. She set them aside at the time and rediscovered them in 2013. Random House publishing decided to print the new material.

Sheila Says: It’s great to see another book from the author we all loved when we were kids (and still love).

Have You Seen The Face-kini?

Introducing the “facekini”. It’s like a ski mask for the beach. It’s made out of swimsuit material and you wear it to protect yourself from the sun and from jellyfish. They’ve been around since 2012 in China and now it’s coming to America. Can you imagine being the first person walking around the beach or down the street in one of these?

Sheila Says: These freak me out a little bit.
