It was a wild night at the Miss Universe Pageant that has everyone talking this morning. Host Steve Harvey mistakenly read the first runner up as the winner. Miss Columbia had thought she’d won, walked down the stage with the crown and sash that said Miss Universe. Steve came back onstage to say she wasn’t the winner, Miss Philippines was the real winner. As an announcer, I understand how easy it is to glance down and ready something wrong. I know Steve Harvey didn’t mean to do that and probably feels extremely bad. Miss Columbia handled it with grace.

Sheila’s Pet Of The Week: Elenor
Elenor is about 15 pounds. She is the size of a corgi with short little legs and a longer body, but as you can see, her color looks like a German Shepherd. Whatever mix she may be, she’s adorable and sweet. Her little tail wags constantly to let you know she’s happy to see you. She’d be the perfect companion for kids all the way up to the elderly. Elenor isn’t too frisky. She’s calm and just wants loving. Adopt her today from the Cookeville/Putnam Co. Animal Shelter.

A surprising new survey found that 57% of Americans don’t know where the Grand Canyon is. Here’s some other surprising facts, although 70% of Americans think they have a good knowledge of national landmarks 60% don’t know that Hoover Dam is between Nevada and Arizona, 37% didn’t know the Space Needle is in Seattle, 32% weren’t aware that Alcatraz is off the coast of San Francisco and what may be the most disturbing, 3% didn’t know the White House is in Washington D.C.
