Only one week after David Bowie’s death and he reaches #1 on the US Charts with his new album Blackstar. He bumped Adele off the top spot and that gave him his first #1 album! The Best of Bowie is at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. That has  placed Bowie among a very select few artists’ who have simultaneously had two albums in the Top Four at one time.

Many of our country’s national parks have entrance fees that range from $3 to $30, but there are days when entry is free. The next free day will be Monday in observance of Martin Luther King day. You can also visit free April 16th through the 24th for National park week, August 25th through the 28th for National park service birthday, September 24th for National Public land day and finally November 11th in observance of Veteran’s day.

A little penguin was born January 8th at the Cincinnati zoo and keepers there decided to name it Bowie because it shares the same birthday of the late singer. All of this took place prior to David Bowie’s death Sunday. Keepers were also considering naming the bird Elvis because Elvis Presley’s birthday is also January 8th, but they already have a King Penguin named Elvis. Pretty soon they’ll be able to start a band with all those rock star penguins.

Priscilla Presley recently revealed that if she could relive one memory, it would be the day she tied the knot with the King, Elvis Presley, despite the fact that she and Elvis divorced four years before his death. Priscilla said, “It wasn’t a fanfare. It was all arranged where it was very private & then we had our friends join us all in Memphis after that. It wasn’t like it is today where everyone has the biggest, the best, the most expensive wedding.” They did have a 6 tiered wedding cake!  They were married in Las Vegas in 1967.

UFC star Ronda Rousey will host Saturday Night Live on January 23rd. She will be the first female athlete to host the show.  Other athletes who have hosted SNL that includes Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter, LeBron James, Tom Brady, Wayne Gretzky and Peyton Manning.

Jonathan Jackson, who plays Avery Barkley on ABC’s Nashville loves the town so much, he and a friend are opening up a restaurant there! It will be called Jack & Jameson’s.  Renovation is going on now at 509 Hillsboro Road in Nashville.
