Sheila Says: A Leg Was Found In A Beaver Dam

49 year old Mark Warner lost his prosthetic leg on a fishing trip when his canoe tipped over. He wasn’t too worried because it was an older model that he used for fishing and hunting. Last week, two guys were canoeing down a creek when they saw a leg sticking out of a beaver dam. It scared them at first because they thought they’d stumbled on a dead body. Then, one of them was on craigslist and discovered someone was missing an artificial leg. He then let the guy know where his leg was and returned it to him.

Sheila Says: Here Is A List Of Fair Food From Around the U.S.

It’s fair season and that means people from all across the United States are coming up with the next big fried favorite. Here are some of the tastiest from fair fans across the country:

-Fried beer. Placing the beer inside a ravioli shaped pocket of dough, the wrapped parcel is then deep fried at 375 degrees for up to 30 seconds.

– Krispy Kreme chicken sandwich. It consists of a deep fried chicken breast patty with cheese inside a Krispy Kreme glazed donut.

– Deep fried Oreo’s. (Available at Helen’s Restaurant booth at the Putnam Co Fair)

– Deep fried butter.

– Hot beef sundae. It’s a scoop of mashed potato, gravy, sour whipped cream, and a cherry (tomato) on top.

– Pickle Pops. A version of a freezer pop.

– Pigs ears. Deep-fried pig ears, which resemble curly fries.

– Fried Pepsi. Instead of water, Pepsi is mixed with flour to make the batter.

– Fried Kool-Aid.

– Deep fried frog legs. (Available at Ollie’s booth at Putnam Co. Fair)

– Deep fried grilled cheese sandwich.

– Deep-fried Doritos. The Nacho-Cheese-Flavored Doritos that are already fried are tossed into a fish-and-chip-style batter and fried again.

Sheila Says: Is He Being A Jerk?

Publicity stunt or jerk? You decide. During an interview last week via video feed Jean Claude Van Dam walked out of an interview with Australian reporters because the questions they were asking were quote “Boring” adding, “Those questions, the press have been asking me the same questions for the past 25 years.” After that he stood up, unhooked his microphone and walked away.

Sheila Says: We’re Getting A New Mural

I’ve had questions about the “I Believe In Cookeville” sign close to the depot. It’s on the opposite side of the building from the Coca Cola sign (Shelton Properties). Turns out the Believe sign was a little too much like the original one in Nashville. So, out of respect for that artist, Cookeville is designing a new one to replace it. Keep an eye out for it and I will also keep you posted.
