Sheila Says: Meet The Dog Ambassador Of A Small Town

Bruno has become a bit of a local legend in the city of Longville, Minnesota. Every day for the past 12 years, just after sunrise, Bruno walks four miles up Highway 84 from his home into town to make the rounds, visiting city hall, the library, the ice cream shop, several real estate offices, and a grocery store, where deli workers give him meat scraps they’ve saved. Then, he hits the road and walks back home. There’s a wooden statue dedicated to him in a park, calling him “Longville’s town dog and ambassador.”

Sheila Says: A Teacher That Doesn’t Give Homework!

A teacher that remains anonymous has stopped assigning homework. In a note to parents the teacher penned, “Dear Parents. After much research this summer, I am trying something new. Homework will only consist of work that your student did not finish during the school day. There will be no formally assigned homework this year. Research has been unable to prove that homework improves student performance. Rather, I ask that you spend your evenings doing things that are proven to correlate with student success. Eating dinner as a family, read together, play outside, and get your child to bed early.” I guess every student will be asking to be in that teacher’s class!

Sheila Says: How Much Do You Think The White House Is Worth?

How much do you think the White House is worth? Excluding tourism and the significance of it’s history how much is the building itself worth. A Los Angeles consultant was hired to appraise it’s value. With it’s 132 rooms, 18 acres of land and 750 artifacts they said the White House is worth $250 million. Imagine the property tax!

Sheila Says: Dick Van Dyke Surprises The Denny’s Crowd!

At the ripe old age of 90 Dick Van Dyke’s still got it. He was at a Denny’s in Santa Monica and he was joined by some employees for an impromptu acapella version of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” He starred in the movie “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” in 1968. Cell phones were up all around the restaurant. So, yes, I found it on You Tube!

Sheila Says: Ever Seen A Cat With Four Ears?

A black cat with four ears named Batman has found a home after spending a month at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society in Pittsburgh. The employees knew immediately that they were seeing something special and didn’t allow him to be adopted at first because they had to clear up an infection. Once he was well, the search for a home lasted just a few hours. A young girl and her mother brought Batman into their family and it was a perfect match, especially since the little girl really likes superheroes.
