Researchers studying the science of earworms discovered Queen makes very addictive songs. The band finished with three of the Top 10 earworms of all time, including the No. 1 spot, “We Will Rock You.” “We Are the Champions,” came in at No. 3, while 1975’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” finished at No. 6. An earworm required five key elements including rhythmic repetition, predictability, melodic potency, surprise and listener receptiveness. Here are the researched Top 20 Earworms:

The nude, sequined dress that Marilyn Monroe wore to sing for president John F. Kennedy’s 45th birthday is going up for auction on November 17th at the world famous auction house to the stars, Julien’s Auctions in LA. Prior to the auction, the “Happy Birthday Mr. President” dress will go on an exclusive world tour. The dress custom Jean Louis creation sparkled with over 2,500 hand-stitched crystals. It was so tight fitting that Marilyn wore nothing underneath and had to be sewn into it last minute. The original sketch was illustrated by Bob Mackie. The historic dress will be presented on the custom made mannequin that was designed to match Marilyn Monroe’s exact body measurements.

Army veteran & third runner up on Season 20 of Dancing With The Stars, Noah Galloway, has a new book out titled Living With No Excuses. I was able to talk to him about how raw his emotions were when writing this memoir. The interview is below.

The GFWC Cookeville Junior Women’s Club are trying to help break a record by building a tree entirely of Children’s Books in the governor’s mansion. After this is over, they will be donated to St. Jude’s and other local programs. The local club will be accepting book donations at the Putnam County library over the next few months. The club is asking for new and gently used books for children and teens. Find out more about this event to promote reading among children in my interview.

Kevin Bacon is not above seeing the humor in his last name. He and late night host, James Corden hat some fun making a skit about a cologne that smells like bacon.

Bruce Springsteen has a lot of hits, which might explain his lengthy concerts. At age 66 he’s showing no signs of slowing down. Tuesday night’s show in New Jersey was 4 hours and 6 minutes, which eclipsed the 3 hour 59 minute concert. That was last Thursday. Talk about getting your money’s worth!

Three desks and chairs for $10 is a great deal. But the review section for the set on Amazon shows buyers are unhappy. There’s nothing wrong with the product — disgruntled buyers failed to read the product dimensions before checking out, and they accidentally wound up with teeny-tiny furniture made for a doll house. The product’s listing size: 8.7 x 5.5 x 1.8 inches. I mean, didn’t the $10 price tip them off that it’s too good to be true?  See the actual product Here.

74 year old Ed Flemming promised his grandson he’d go skydiving with him on his 18th birthday, but the skydiving company required anyone over 65 to get a doctor’s clearance. The doc had Ed do a stress test, which involves a treadmill pushing you to your limit. Turned out he had all 5 of his arteries blocked. Instead of skydiving he had quintuple bypass surgery. Doctors said he could’ve had a heart attack during the dive.  After he recovers he still plans on making that dive.
