FDA proposes slashing sodium in prepared foods

The Food and Drug Administration is calling on food companies to lower sodium levels in packaged and restaurant meals. The move is aimed at preventing thousands of deaths every year from heart disease and stroke. Americans currently take in nearly 50 percent more than the recommended daily limit of sodium. CDC director on protecting pregnant women against Zika virus
