NYPD’s John Miller on “critical stage” in N.J. and N.Y. bombings investigation

The FBI became aware of New Jersey and New York bombings suspect Ahmad Rahami in 2014 after a neighbor heard his father call him a terrorist, but federal agents found no ties to terrorism and closed their investigation. John Miller, NYPD deputy commissioner of intelligence and counter-terrorism and former CBS News senior correspondent, joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss the ongoing investigation into Rahami. N.Y. bombing suspect’s notebook suggests Rahami was inspired by terror groups

The wife of accused New York and New Jersey bomber Ahmad Rahami is reportedly in the United States. Asia Bibi Rahami apparently flew into New York Wednesday night from Dubai. She is not considered a suspect and has been cooperating with investigators. Newly-released pages from the suspect’s journal suggests he was influenced by a variety of terrorist groups, including al Qaeda and Boko Haram. Jeff Pegues reports. Source

Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, her husband of two years. The two have been together for 12 years and are parents to six children. Report: American drivers are wasting money on premium gas

AAA estimates Americans wasted $2.1 billion in the last year on the wrong gas. Many use premium instead of regular gas because they think it is better for their engine. But the new study shows there is no benefit from the more expensive fuel. Kris Van Cleave has more. Source

Pipeline spill spikes gas prices in the South

Fuel supplies in at least five states are threatened by a gasoline pipeline spill in Alabama. The pipeline runs from Texas to New Jersey, supplying the East Coast with 40 percent of its fuel. Now, gas prices are reflecting the damage. David Begnaud has the latest. Source
