Retired Adm. Winnefeld on son’s opioid-overdose death

For retired Navy admiral and CBS News military and homeland security analyst Sandy Winnefeld, the epidemic is personal. He lost his 19-year-old son, Jonathan, in September to a fentanyl-laced batch of heroin. Kumail Nanjiani on “The Big Sick,” Muslims in media

Actor and comedian Kumail Nanjiani, known for playing software engineer Dinesh on the HBO comedy “Silicon Valley,” also co-wrote and starred in “The Big Sick.” It’s one of the highest-grossing independent movies of the year, with more than $40 million in domestic box office sales. In 1994 the album “Definitely Maybe,” by the group Oasis, became the fastest-selling debut in British history. They followed that with a worldwide smash, “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory.” Noel Gallagher, the band’s highly-praised songwriter, quit Oasis in 2009 and formed his own band, the High Flying Birds.
