CDC: Overdoses kill about 5 people every hour across the U.S.

A new report out shows opioid overdoses have risen 30 percent in 45 states. But increases are even higher in states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Delaware. CBS News correspondent Dean Reynolds is in Illinois, where just one ER doctor said they treated 500 people in a year. Source

Trump doubles down on steel, aluminum tariffs pledge

President Trump is not letting GOP criticism deflect him from imposing tariffs on U.S. steel and aluminum imports. House Speaker Paul Ryan says he is “extremely worried” about the consequences of the president’s plan. Other Republicans want to stop the tariffs altogether. Chip Reid reports. Source
