Nearly 5,000 workers have been laid off by the Big Three automakers as the United Auto Workers strike enters its fourth week. The companies say they’ve been forced to let people go because their jobs are tied to factories that the union is picketing. How one expert says the Israel-Hamas war could expand as Lebanon, Syria launch rockets

Israel has mobilized more than 300,000 reservists as it prepares for a potential ground offensive in Gaza.
