White House announces new actions on reproductive rights, 51 years after Roe v. Wade ruling

The Biden administration announced new actions Monday aimed at strengthening access to contraception and protecting access to medication abortion with President Biden also convening a task force on the issue. It’s been 51 years to the day since the Roe v. Wade ruling, which established the right to an abortion. The Supreme Court overturned that precedent in 2022. Democratic Rep. Jennifer McClellan, of Virginia, joined CBS News to discuss the new actions. Source

Why Biden won’t be on New Hampshire primary ballot

Democrats in New Hampshire are pushing forward with a write-in campaign for President Biden in Tuesday’s primary. Mr. Biden will not appear on the ballot because he opted instead to support a primary calendar that puts South Carolina as the first contest, despite the Granite State’s constitutional stipulation that it must be the first primary in the nation. Arctic blast blamed for over 90 deaths across U.S.

More than 90 people have died in part due to the brutal winter weather that’s swept across the country, with some states waking up Monday to snow, ice, freezing rain and high winds. Sofia Vergara and Netflix are being sued by the family of Griselda Blanco, the Colombian drug lord who Vergara portrays in an upcoming miniseries on the streaming network. Blanco’s son, Michael Corleone Blanco, wants to block the show from streaming. Source
