Alabama fields heavy criticism for nitrogen gas execution

The state of Alabama was criticized by several groups, including the United Nations and the European Union, after it executed a death row inmate Thursday night using the controversial method of nitrogen hypoxia. U.S. southern border sees record number of migrant crossings

Boeing’s 737 Max 9 returns to service for first time since door blowout

An Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to San Diego marked the first Boeing 737 Max 9 to return to service since the aircraft was grounded by the Federal Aviation Administration earlier this month following a door panel blowout aboard an Alaska Airlines flight. More 737 Max 9 jets are expected to take flight in the coming days after they undergo inspection. Kris Van Cleave reports. Source

Trump ordered to pay $83.3 million in E. Jean Carroll defamation trial

A federal New York jury deliberated for fewer than three hours Friday before ordering former President Donald Trump to pay $83.3 million in damages to writer E. Jean Carroll for defamatory statements he made about her in 2019. A previous jury last year had already found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation of Carroll. Errol Barnett has the latest.
