Alabama effectively outlaws abortion

Alabama is now the first state in decades to make abortion a crime in almost every case. Gov. Kay Ivey signed a controversial bill calling for doctors who perform abortions to face up to 99 years in prison. The only exception is if the mother’s life is at risk. Six months after California’s Camp Fire, water is contaminated and unusable

While we now know power lines started the deadliest wildfire in California history, a different type of threat is affecting plans to rebuild: contaminated water that tested positive for elevated levels of cancer-causing benzene.
