Day 3, Part 14: Staff and committee members question Kurt Volker and Tim Morrison

After a recess, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff tacked on two more 15-minute sessions controlled by him and ranking Republican Devin Nunes. They posed additional questions to Kurt Volker, the former special envoy to Ukraine, and Tim Morrison, the outgoing senior director of European and Russian affairs at the National Security Council and a deputy assistant to the president. Then committee members were given five minutes each for questioning. Source

GOP congressman questions intelligence community

Republican Congressman Brad Wenstrup criticized the intelligence community and disputed the widely accepted conclusion by American intelligence that Russia — not Ukraine — interfered in the 2016 presidential election. The Ohio representative said that members of the intel community were some of the same people who were involved in the “Russia collusion hoax” at the heart of a special counsel investigation. Source

Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher could be expelled

In what many will consider an act of defiance, the Navy is ordering a decorated SEAL to go before a review board, which could kick him out of the unit. It comes after the president signed an order, restoring him to his full rank. David Martin reports. Source

Day 3, Part 13: Devin Nunes and Steve Castor question Kurt Volker and Tim Morrison

California Congressman Devin Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, and Steve Castor, senior investigative counsel for Republicans on the panel, questioned Tim Morrison and Kurt Volker Tuesday in the third day of public impeachment hearings. Volker is the former special envoy to Ukraine and Morrison is the outgoing senior director of European and Russian affairs at the National Security Council and a deputy assistant to the president.
