El Chapo’s son arrested then released under heavy gunfire

Chaotic scenes of violence paralyzed the streets of a Mexican city Thursday. A son of notorious drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was briefly apprehended then later released. Before he was let go police clashed with heavily-armed members of the Sinaloa drug cartel. Officials say they arrested Ovidio Guzmán López, who is among the most wanted men in Mexico, but the onslaught was so fierce security forces were forced to let Guzmán go. Errol Barnett reports. Trump under more scrutiny with announcement of his Doral resort hosting G7

Mick Mulvaney held a briefing Thursday in which he acknowledged President Trump withheld nearly $400 million in military aid from Ukraine as he demanded Ukraine investigate Democrats. He triggered even more controversy when he announced the G7 Summit, an important gathering of world leaders, will be held next June at the Doral resort near Miami, owned by the president. Fighting in Syria persists despite ceasefire

There’s heavy criticism of Vice President Mike Pence’s deal to stop Turkey’s attacks on Kurdish forces in northern Syria. Turkish forces have also been accused by a chemical weapons expert of using white phosphorus against Kurdish civilians. Charlie D’Agata reports. Source

Louisiana could become first state without access to abortion

CBS News has learned Louisiana could become the first state in the country without access to abortion as soon as next year. The Supreme Court will consider a challenge to Louisiana’s so-called Unsafe Abortion Protection Act. The decision could end abortion services at Louisiana’s last remaining clinics.
