Trump administration reverses Obama policy on Israeli settlements

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Monday that the Trump administration is reversing the Obama administration’s approach toward Israeli settlements. “The establishment of Israeli civilian settlement in the West Bank is not per se inconsistent with international law,” said Pompeo. He added that the “ultimate status” of the West Bank is a “complex political problem that can only be solved by negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians.” Source

​Cooper says Ukraine asked about aid delay on same day as Trump-Zelensky call

Laura Cooper, the deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, amended her earlier deposition to say she has since learned Ukrainian officials asked about a possible delay in security assistance as early as July 25 – the day of the now-famous Trump-Zelensky phone call. It’s the earliest indication of Ukrainian concerns about a possible delay in the aid. Source

Proposed bill would decriminalize marijuana at federal level
