Officials conduct implosions at site of collapsed Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans

Officials set off thundering explosions Sunday to topple two cranes looming precariously over a partially collapsed hotel in New Orleans, but most of one crane appeared to be left dangling atop the ruined building while the other crashed down. The explosions set off massive clouds of dust, but officials say everything went exactly as expected. Source

34th horse has died at Santa Anita Park racetrack in California

Satchel Paige, a 3-year-old gelding, was euthanized at Santa Anita Park this weekend — the 34th horse to die there since December 2018. The horse, named for the legendary baseball Hall-of-Famer, suffered an injury to his left leg during the fifth race, officials said. CBSN Los Angeles’ Jeff Nguyen reports. Source
