Artificial intelligence aims to improve breast cancer diagnoses

A recent study found that false positive breast biopsies cost the healthcare system over $2 billion per year. According to the National Cancer Institute, mammograms miss about 20% of breast cancers while one in 10 women receive a false positive result. Jamie Yuccas spoke with researchers at Google and UCLA who have developed an artificial intelligence program to help better diagnose mammograms and biopsies. Dr. Susan Grossman joins “CBS This Morning” to explain the need for the new technology. Source

Hospital video shows law enforcement beating, tackling teen

A North Carolina mother is blasting law enforcement officers for their violent treatment of her son outside an emergency room during a mental health crisis. Survillance video appears to show security guards tackle the teenager in outside of Charlotte, NC. At another point, a sheriff’s deputy punches him while he’s handcuffed. Woman accused of drugging new mom and trying to steal baby

A Washington state woman, who once ran for public office in Colorado, is accused of trying to kidnap a three-week-old baby. Juliette Parker and her teenage daughter are suspected of posing as photographers, and drugging a new mom to try and steal her infant.
