2 ex-volleyball stars, daughters killed in crash

Two former college volleyball stars and their 12-year-old daughters were killed in an eastern Missouri crash while on their way to a volleyball tournament. The head-on crash killed Carrie Urton McCaw, Lesley Drury Prather and their two daughters, CBS affiliate KMOV-TV reports. Source

Some American citizens forced to stay in Japan over coronavirus

Over 40 Americans diagnosed with coronavirus have been forced to stay in hospitals in Japan after two planes brought U.S. citizens who had not been showing symptoms at the time back to the country. National Museum of African American Music opens in Nashville

A new museum in Nashville aims to preserve the legacy of African American music. The National Museum of African American Music will be the only institution dedicated to showcasing music genres created, influenced, and inspired by black Americans. Since 2002, the museum has raised $60 million and collected 1,500 artifacts. Museum president and CEO Henry Beecher III and senior curator Dina Bennett join “CBS This Morning.” Source

Artificial intelligence aims to improve breast cancer diagnoses

A recent study found that false positive breast biopsies cost the healthcare system over $2 billion per year. According to the National Cancer Institute, mammograms miss about 20% of breast cancers while one in 10 women receive a false positive result. Jamie Yuccas spoke with researchers at Google and UCLA who have developed an artificial intelligence program to help better diagnose mammograms and biopsies. Hospital video shows law enforcement beating, tackling teen

A North Carolina mother is blasting law enforcement officers for their violent treatment of her son outside an emergency room during a mental health crisis. Survillance video appears to show security guards tackle the teenager in outside of Charlotte, NC. At another point, a sheriff’s deputy punches him while he’s handcuffed.
