Study finds possible lupus cause, way to reverse disease

A new study suggests researchers have found a cause for lupus and a possible way to reverse the chronic autoimmune disease that affects more than 1.5 million Americans. Until now, its cause has largely been unknown and existing treatments have been seen as unreliable. Dr. Jaehyuk Choi, associate professor of dermatology and biochemistry at Northwestern Medicine, joined CBS News to discuss the findings. Source

FAA investigating SpaceX rocket’s catastrophic failure

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket suffered a catastrophic engine failure as it launched a batch of Starlink satellites into orbit Thursday night, the first time in nearly a decade the rocket has failed. Alec Baldwin trial temporarily put on hold over evidence dispute

A judge put Alec Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter trial temporarily on hold over claims from the actor’s lawyers that the state withheld evidence that appeared in Thursday’s testimony from a crime scene technician. Baldwin’s team says the case should be dismissed because of that. Baldwin is charged in the 2021 shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Western film set “Rust.” Entertainment attorney Tre Lovell joined CBS News to discuss the trial. Source
