World leaders and WWII veterans gather for D-Day anniversary

The first Allied troops who landed in Normandy on June 6,1944 eventually became a wave that drove German occupiers out of France and forced the surrender of Nazi Germany in May of 1945. But the success of D-Day came at the cost of thousands of lives. Leaders and citizens from around the world gathered to honor them Thursday morning in Normandy. Trump says U.S. and Mexico making progress but “not nearly enough” to prevent tariffs

As he traveled to Normandy Thursday morning, President Trump blamed Democrats and Mexico for the growing number of illegal migrants crossing the southern border. Last month, U.S. border agents made more than 132,000 apprehensions — the highest monthly level since 2006. That amounts to about 4,000 people per day. The president plans to respond with tariffs on all Mexican goods, despite opposition from his own party and others. Weijia Jiang reports. Source

Ohio doctor charged with 25 fentanyl overdose deaths

In one of the largest ever murder cases against a health care professional, a former doctor in Ohio is accused in the overdose killings of more than two dozen patients. William Husel pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to 25 counts of murder. Anna Werner reports. Source
