Team USA wins gold in men’s basketball, women’s soccer

Facing host country France on Saturday, NBA superstar Steph Curry helped lead Team USA to its fifth straight Olympic gold in men’s basketball, while earlier in the day, the U.S. women’s national soccer team defeated a talented Brazil squad to secure the team’s first gold medal since 2012. Utah’s iconic “Double Arch” collapses

The geological formation known as the “Double Arch” in southern Utah’s Glen Canyon National Recreation Area has collapsed, the National Park Service reported. Changing water levels and erosion are believed to have contributed to the collapse. Source

Israeli airstrike on Gaza school-turned-shelter kills dozens

An airstrike Saturday on a school and mosque which had been serving as a shelter in central Gaza City killed at least 80 people and left dozens more injured. In the past week, Israel has bombed at least four schools in Gaza City, saying they were harboring terrorists. Israel claims Saturday’s strike killed at least 19 Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants.
