Rudolph has been around since 1939. Yes, for 75 years, kids have loved this shiny, red nosed reindeer. The idea was thought up by a copywriter at Montgomery Ward, Robert L. May. He tested the story on his own little girl to make sure the story would appeal to kids. Then, it was added to a booklet to giveaway at their stores at Christmas. Montgomery Ward gave away 2.4 million copies that year! From that, a song and TV special was made along with a lasting memory for children everywhere.
