Trump signs spending bills to avoid government shutdown

As President Trump flew to south Florida Friday, he signed a series of spending bills that will keep the government running and avoid a repeat of last year’s shutdown. The measures authorize $1.4 trillion in federal spending. The legislation increases federal worker’s pay by an average of about 3%. It also authorizes $1.4 billion for security at the U.S.-Mexico border. That’s less than the $6 billion the president demanded last year during the shutdown battle. Source
