Los Angeles sheriff calls for ban on assault weapons

Some estimates put the number of assault-style rifles in circulation at around 15 to 20 million. Today, the head of the nation’s fourth-largest law enforcement agency, Los Angles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, called for an end of the manufacture and sale of these types of weapons.
